William T. (Bill) Smith of Farmington Hills passed away July 18, 2021 after 95 years of a wonderful, remarkable, life.

He was married for 64 years to his high school sweetheart, Joan D. Smith (deceased 2012). Together they had five children: Maralee (Karwoski), William Gregory, Nancy Joan (Smith-Hefner), Gregory Laurence, and Douglas Scott.  He was a loving grandfather to 12, great-grandfather to 21, and great-great grandfather to 1. 

Bill was the son of Hugh Lawrence Smith and Ludie Beatrice Smith.  He was preceded in death by his parents and two of his four siblings: Gilbert Lawrence Smith and Peggy Jane Kinkin.  He leaves behind a sister, Carol Ann Bogatitus and a brother, Alvin Ray Smith.

Bill was a man of many interests and multiple talents.  He made wine, built houses, refinished furniture and antiques, grew flowers and vegetables, established his own business, traveled widely, published 3 books of family genealogy, and wrote his own biography.  He leaves behind too many wonderful memories to count and a loving family and partner of 9 years, Paula Stiefvater, who will all miss him dearly.
