Moreen, Verl David, Jr.

Age 90, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2015. Mr. Moreen was born on February 6, 1925 in Muskegon, MI and served his country during WWII in the Navy while stationed in the Philippines. He graduated from the University of Detroit with a Juris Doctorate in 1951 and was then admitted to the State Bar of Michigan. Mr. Moreen was the in-house attorney for State Farm Insurance for 45 years. After retirement, he worked with the Wayne County Division of Arbitration as well as being involved with the Michigan Supreme Court. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Thelma, in October of 2014 after spending 66 years together. Mr. Moreen is survived by his five children, Deborah (Mark) Lundin, Frances (Barry) Long, Marjorie Largura, David (Ana) Moreen III, Rosanna (Roger) Ouellette, 16 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Visitation will be on Friday, July 17, 2015 at Thayer-Rock Funeral Home, 33603 Grand River Ave., Farmington, MI from 9:00-11:00 am with a memorial service at 11:00 am.
