Timothy A. Hardy, age 70, of Novi passed away at 4:00pm, Monday, August 15th, 2022.

To honor Tim’s memory, we are holding a celebration of his life at 11:00am (visitation beginning one hour prior) on Monday, August 22 at Thayer-Rock Funeral Home (33603 Grand River Ave. Farmington, Michigan). We invite anyone who knew him to attend and remember his wonderful life. The Hardy family will welcome visitors on Sunday, August 21 from 2:00pm until 8:00pm. On Monday, August 22 a Memorial service will be held at 11am at the Funeral Home following visitation at 10am. Burial will follow immediately after the service at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

Tim was born November 6, 1951 in Monroe, Michigan, the son of Harlen C. and Madonna C. (Kimling) Hardy. Madonna passed away on July 2, 1957. In 1959 Tim's father, Harlen, married Joann (Mentel) Scarffe and she took on the responsibility of raising a young family.

Tim was a 1976 graduate of Wayne State University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting. Tim worked in the computer industry for Honeywell, followed by Regional Sales Manager at Apple Computer. He then worked at Chameleon Power, a software company for 30+ years. As Vice President of Information Technology, he strongly influenced the company’s move to the next phase, acquisition by Hyphen Solutions.

Tim enjoyed classic car shows, going on walks, vacations, and occasionally to any sporting event. He was very easy going and loved his Hawaiian life-style shirts, anticipating retirement. He was very tech savvy and loved his gadgets.

Tim is survived by a loving family including his wife Irene Hardy, his daughter, Christine Hardy, and son Allen (Amy) Hardy. Tim is also survived by one brother and four sisters: Tom (and Vickie) Scarffe of Mansfield, Ohio; Elaine (and John) Cangealose Jr. of Monroe; Cathy (and Scott) Pagel of Strongsville, Ohio; Jane (and Ralph) Woodbury of Monroe; and Ann (and Mike) Hedges of Monroe. Tim is survived as well by sister-in-law Janet Bourbeau and Carol Lassiter and brother-in-law Donald Bourbeau. In addition, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many cousins.

Tim was preceded in death by his brother Dennis Hardy on May 5, 2009. In addition to the passing of his mother, Madonna in 1957 and his step-mother, Joann on May 9, 2001, Tim’s’ passing was preceded by his father October 4, 1989.
