Scott David Lowry of Milford, Michigan, passed away suddenly and tragically on May 24, 2025 at the age of 68 after complications from a serious fall.
Born August 6, 1956 in Cleveland, Ohio, to Robert and Phyllis Lowry, Scott lived a life defined by quiet strength, steady presence, and unwavering devotion to those he loved. In 1979, he married his wife, Cindy, and together they raised three beautiful daughters – Kristen, Kelly, and Sara.
Scott didn’t need to be loud to be heard. He led by example – through patience, reliability, and an understated sense of humor. His strength was quiet, it showed up in small, daily acts of love: mowing the lawn with care, playing flag football with his grandchildren, and texting his daughters during Lions games. He found joy in the simple things – cut grass, comfort food, and time with family.
He was, in the words of his son in law, “distilled –only the good parts.” He didn’t try to fill the room, but his presence filled the lives of those who knew him. He wasn’t a teacher, but he was an example – and that, as his family knows well, is better.
Scott is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Cindy; his daughters Kristen (Jeff) Jones, Kelly (Peter) Barta, Sara Lowry and her husband, Chris Mason; and his grandchildren Kellen, Chad, Taylor, Savannah, Evelyn, and Jody. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Phyllis.
Viewing will take place on Friday, May 30, 2025, at Oak Pointe Church, 1250 S. Hill Rd., Milford, Michigan, from 4:30pm until the time of service at 6:00pm.
An open house luncheon will follow on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 1740 Valley View Lane, Milford, Michigan, from 11:00am until 4:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor Scott by spending time with the people you love, cheering for the Lions, or simply enjoying a quiet moment outside—he would’ve liked that.
