Raymond "Charlie" Thomas Burns Obituary

Passed peacefully October 17, 2015 surrounded by his loving family at age 68. Charlie was an army veteran serving in Vietnam 1967 & 1968, he was a Detroit policeman for 27 years and retired as staff Sgt. at the 6th precinct, then he worked as a dispatcher for the city of Royal Oak and as a security officer for the DMC.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Karen; His loving children Peter (Donya) and Daniel; his cherished granddaughter Daphne "Lark"; Siblings Jim Burns, Mary Jo Buchan, Julie Rodler and Suzanne Dernay; also survived by many loving relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 21, 2015 from 2-8 pm at the Thayer-Rock Funeral Home, 33603 Grand River Ave,Farmington MI, 48335 (one blk. west of Farmington Road).

A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, October 22, at St. Mary's of Redford Parish, 16098 Grand River Ave., Detroit, MI 48227 at 11 am with visitation from 10:30 am until time of the Mass.

In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to VA Ann Arbor Attn. Voluntary Services 2215 Fuller Ann Arbor, MI 48105 (in check Memo CLC Unit) or The Dorothy and Peter Brown Jewish Community Adult Day Care Program www.jslmi.org. Thank you for keeping the Burns family in your prayers.
