Mr. Randy Alan LeCompte, a longtime resident of Southfield and later Farmington Hills, Michigan went home to be with the Lord at the age of 66 in the early hours of Saturday, November 27, 2021 from complications of congestive heart failure.
He is survived by his children Chris (DeeDee), Dan (Stephanie), and Valerie (Justin); his six grandchildren: Noah, Will, Drew, Molly, Peter, and Charlie; and his sisters Linda, Pam (Tim), Cheryl (Wes), and Jody (Doug). Randy’s beloved wife, Mary LeCompte (nee Kato) of 44 years predeceased him on January 17, 2021.
Randy was born on September 11,1955 in Hamtramck, Michigan to Raymond Douglas & Frances Alice LeCompte (Brahm). He lived in Southfield, Michigan where he met the love of his life, Mary Kato in 7th grade. High school sweethearts, Randy and Mary were wed on September 25, 1976 and quickly started a family.
Randy was a hardworking man, who served his family and church community throughout his life. Randy spent most of his career serving the Jewish Community of Metro Detroit, starting at Jewish Vocational Services and later working for the Jewish Federation of Metro Detroit.
While raising his family, he enjoyed vacationing in Elk Rapids, Michigan with them and always loved the sand and waters of the Great Lakes. He loved to play card games and do puzzles, and was always ready to share his knowledge in many topics and his quick wit.
Randy’s is greatly missed by those who knew him and spent time with him, especially his immediate family. A memorial service for Randy will be held on 12/16/21 at Brightmoor Church in Novi, MI at 10 am.
