Porter Alan Riedl was surrounded by complete peace and love when he passed away on August 29, 2021 at the age of 7. His life will be celebrated on October 2, 2021 at Oak Pointe Church, 50200 W. 10 Mile Rd., Novi, Michigan at 11 am.
Porter is forever loved by his family, parents Meghan and Timothy Riedl, and big sister and brother, Payton and Caiden. He was adored by his grandparents, Joan Riedl and Mark and Mary Schiffman. His beloved Aunt Sandy, his aunt and uncles Tara Chawalek (Chris), Nicole Lefere (Kevin), Matt Schiffman (Ashleigh) and bike riding buddy, Uncle Mike. Porter had the best playmates in his beloved cousins Shane, Riley, Cole, Maddie, Reese, Quinn, John, Sophie, Jackie and Hunter, and all of his friends from Thornton Creek elementary. His most loved fur-buddy, River went before him and they are undoubtedly together, laying in the sun.
Porter was love personified. You knew when his gentle spirit would enter a room by his sweet smile, bright blue eyes, and the joy that followed wherever he went. He had the sweetest sincerity to him, and was both funny and cautiously wise beyond his years. You could find “Pork Chop”, “Port-Port”, and their sweet “Boo-Boo Bear” kicking a soccer ball, catching frogs with Willow and Luna, or fishing barefoot with his best friend and brother Caiden. He had an unwavering bond with his loving and protective big sister, Payton and she could always make him laugh whether making a Tik-Tok video with him, or the sweet moments they shared together, just the two of them. Porter was absolutely adored by his Mommy and Daddy, and was and will forever be the heartbeat of so many beautiful memories they shared together as a family. Porter was happiest in the beautiful world they created for him at their home, wild and free. There was truly nothing he loved more than his family.
Porter, you will forever be the brightest star in the sky. Thank you for loving us the way you did. You have changed all of us in the most beautiful and profound way, and we will spend our lives spreading the love you taught us to give so freely. Fly high, sweet boy. We love you.
