Nancy Hadus Obituary

Nancy Leona Hadus, age 82 of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home with her loving husband Joe at her side on October 17, 2023. Born in North Branch, Minnesota, on July 30, 1941, to Russell Conrad and Leona (nee Johnson) Nelson, she was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt to several nieces and nephews and a loyal friend.

After a long and successful career as a nuclear medical technologist and after, along with her parents, raising her two children from a previous marriage, she met the love of her life and she and Joe Hadus were married on April 24, 1999.  Together they moved to Bloomfield Hills and began a lifelong story of love and companionship.

Nancy loved to travel and explore, and among her favorite places were the Grand Canal in Venice, the Swiss Alps, Vienna and the Grand Hotel on Mackinaw Island, where she and Joe spent many anniversaries staying in the same room year after year.  Though her astonishing natural beauty was apparent to all, she had an inner beauty and cared deeply for her family, loved children and adored her two Scottish Terriers, Fergus MacDuff and Masie Moonbeam, whom she named and preceded her in death. Nancy will be sorely missed by all who knew her for her sense of humor, her comical “wacky” side and her beauty which brightened up many a gloomy day. She was a wonderful caring person who touched all who had the good fortune to know her.

She was proceeded in death by her parents Russell Conrad Nelson and Leona (nee Johnson) Nelson and survived by her husband Joe Hadus, daughter Susan (Pete) Ghannam, son Steve Etty, grandson Sean Etty, brother Russell Nelson, sister MaryLou (Gary) LaMont and several nieces and nephews. A future upcoming memorial in celebration of her wonderful life will be scheduled and all will be notified as to time and place.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
