Maryalyce Smith passed away peacefully on February 28, 2025 at the age of 93. She was born on August 4, 1931 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Walter and Hazel Smith. She had no siblings. 

Maryalyce graduated from high school in Detroit and from Michigan State University where she was a proud member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority, serving as the Alumni’s treasurer in her later years. After graduation, she worked at Harper-Grace Hospital as a Medical Technologist until she retired in 1990. 

Maryalyce traveled the world and took many pictures for all to enjoy. She loved dogs, especially her Toby. She also loved reading, knitting and enjoyed going to her book club and bible study. 

She is survived by dear cousins Michael Eastland and Susan McQuown. Second cousins Laura Becker, Jeff Malzahn, Robert Smith, Jr., William Smith, Thomas Smith, and Catherine (Smith) Kigar. 

Interment was at Grand Lawn Cemetery. A memorial service is pending.
