Mary Jane Curtis passed away on May 27, 2024, at the age of 72, in Roscommon, Michigan. She was born on February 20,1952, to Richard and Melba (Johnson) Curtis.

Mary grew up in Detroit. She attended White School and Oakman School. She later moved to Farmington, where she attended Cloverdale Developmental Training Center. She was a member of the First Apostolic Lutheran Church.

Despite the challenges Mary faced with epilepsy and developmental disability, she was a shining star to all who knew her. The twinkle in her big brown eyes and the warmth of her smile reflected the inner beauty and love she conveyed to those around her. Her child-like faith and quiet acceptance was a lesson in gentleness, patience and humility. She loved spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Melba, and her niece, Melissa (Curtis) Beckman.

She is survived by her sisters, Barbara (Michael) Zultak, Carol Curtis, Nancy (George) Van Haezebrouck, Susan (Terrence) Green; and her brothers, Richard (Janet) Curtis, and Allan (Annette) Curtis, and several cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Funeral Service 11am Friday, May 31, 2024, at Thayer Rock Funeral Home, 33603 Grand River Ave, Farmington, Michigan with visitation beginning at 9:30am.

Internment at Glen Eden Memorial Park, 35667 8 Mile Rd, Livonia, Michigan, immediately following the service.
