Tweedie, Joy Tweedie Olson, and Edwin C. Tweedie.

Mary graduated from the University of Wisconsin and Wayne State University with a Bachelor of Science degree.    The First Presbyterian Church of Farmington was always an important part of Mary’s life.  She was the last founding member of the church.  At the church, she created and led a clothing distribution center “Attic Clothing Closet” where she organized and delivered clothing to the needy, helped organize monthly gatherings at Northville State Hospital and served as Deacon and Elder multiple times at the church.  She was a world traveler beginning in the late 1960’s, visiting different countries and cultures for over four decades.  She stayed active continuing to ride her bicycle, cross country ski, playing bridge, attending theatre events, enjoying nature and driving for Meals on Wheels into her 90’s.  She was honored multiple times for her volunteer work by the Farmington Hills City Council. She retired as a pharmacist with Hawthorne Center after almost 30 years of dedicated service.  Mary’s zest for living life to the fullest continues to be an inspiration to her family.
