Mariana Ruth (Skriver) Lawson

Mariana Ruth Skriver Lawson of Redford, MI died October 8, 2021 at age 91  Mari was born on October 5, 1930 in Detroit, MI to Frederick Christian Skriver and Agnes E. Wishart Skriver.  Mari had two sisters, her twin sister, Marion Skriver Belcher and younger sister, Margaret McCarthy. 

Mother of Robert Skriver, Billy Lawson, and Rick Lawson all preceded in death.  Mari is survived by daughter-in-law Connie, granddaughter Jennifer Bidigare, great grandson Waylon James Davey, close niece Debra Paul Miracle and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Mari was married to Bill Howard Lawson.  They lived in Warren, MI raising their three boys.  She worked several jobs, but mainly worked in factory sorting plastics and worked cleaning banks and offices.  Her employers stated “she was a hard worker and honest”.  She moved to Redford, MI to be closer to her youngest son.  She filled her days visiting with family and friends with her cat Daisy.  She moved into an extended care facility and was cared for by Connie and Debbie, until she passed on October 8, 2021.

Mari enjoyed people.  She loved to talk (a lot), always friendly, sense of humor, smile shining, loved to sing and so polite.  At the extended care facility, she brightened everyone’s day with conversation or a compliment whether a resident or an employee.  She always had candy and gum to share with everyone.  She loved to participate in activities at the ECF.  You could often catch Mari and Debbie playing Bingo or singing when entertainers came in to perform or catch her and Connie talking and laughing.  Mari loved people. She will be greatly missed.   Mari was ready to go and be with our Lord and her loved ones.  This year, she would ask “when will God come for me”.  Her request was answered on Oct 8, 2021.  Mari is at rest and happy and we will rejoice.

Family will have a private ceremony.  Mariana Ruth Lawson will be laid to rest beside her sons in Lee Cemetery, Knox County, Kentucky.
