June Dolores Wiseman was born on September 19, 1924 to George and Clara Wiseman in Detroit, Michigan. She attended Kennedy Grade School, Jefferson Middle School and graduated from Northwestern High School in 1942. She worked at Michigan Bell Telephone Company in the Accounting Department. On New Years Eve in 1941 she went to a party with her aunt and uncle at the 8 Mile Inn on Woodward and 8 Mile Road. There she met Charles Orrand who was home on furlough from the Army during World War II. He asked her for her address and they wrote to each other for the rest of the war. When he returned home in August of 1945 they started dating, got engaged and married on July 6, 1946 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Detroit. They lived on 17th Street until they bought their first house on Burt Road in Detroit in 1951. They had daughter Nancy June on March 11, 1952. They moved to Redford Twp. in 1971. On February 13, 1975 Nancy and her late husband Ron welcomed their son Bryan and June and Charlie became loving and devoted grandparents.
June worked for over 40 years on the Election Board in Detroit and Redford Twp. She and Charlie were very active at Immanuel Lutheran Church and later at Hosanna Tabor Lutheran Church. June occasionally worked at the church office. She loved to read and take care of her flowers in the garden. She also enjoyed sewing and made Nancy many clothes. She loved going to the Tigers games and watched the games on TV when she could no longer attend in person. She became a widow when her husband died in July, 2003. Shortly after her husband's death, her grandson died in September, 2003, In 2005 she moved to an apartment in Farmington, MI and joined St. John Lutheran Church in 2006 with her daughter.
June was very close to all of her family and enjoyed getting together for family gatherings. She was godmother to Ken Monberg and Dale Brandt. She was a very caring and loving daughter, wife, mother and grandmother.. She will be truly missed by all of her family and friends.
Visitation Friday, August 18, 2023 from 3-8 pm at Thayer-Rock Funeral Home, 33603 Grand River Avenue, Farmington, Michigan 48335. Instate Saturday, August 19, 2023 from 10 am until time of funeral service at 11 am at St. John Lutheran Church, 23225 Gill Rd, Farmington Hills, MI 48335. Interment to follow at Glen Eden Lutheran Memorial Park, Livonia, Michigan
