Judith (Judy) Ann Young was born December 22, 1942 in New Jersey to the late John (Jack) and Birdie Cassidy. She passed away on May 25, 2025 in Farmington Hills, Michigan at the age of 82.
Judy attended Cass Tech High School, Redford Union and Redford Thurston High Schools, and went on to Western Michigan University. She worked for Honeywell and Wade Trim where she was a leader in introducing the use of computers to companies.
Judy loved card club with her longtime friends from the Green Hill Woods neighborhood; tending her vegetable gardens and landscaping; her family - hosting many family holiday dinners over the years; sleepovers with her grandchildren; and walking her many dogs. She loved hard and gave tireless care to family, especially her parents and husband, but would also help out her children by picking up grandkids from school and planning adventures.
She was married for 25 years to her now deceased husband (2004) Charles Young. Between them, they have 4 children: Greg (Trudi) Feenstra, Robin (Robert) Chartier, Deborah (Frank) DeLuca, and Charles (Brenda) Young; 11 grandchildren: Sydney, Isabella, and Katrien Feenstra, Jessica Davis, Melissa LaCarter, Colleen Gray, Sarah Chartier, Joseph and Madison DeLuca, and Ashley Lewis; and 6 great-grandchildren: James and Kaylee Davis, Marqus, Isaiah and Michael Lewis, and Preston Mengedoht. Preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother Dennis Cassidy (2022), and granddaughter Deidre Mengedoht (2018). Survived by her sister Laura Klotz, sister-in-law Jean Cassidy, and niece and nephew Kevin and Kelly Cassidy.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Friday, May 30, 2025 from 3 - 7 pm at Thayer-Rock Funeral Home, 33603 Grand River Avenue, Farmington, Michigan 48335. Instate at Thayer-Rock Funeral Home on May 31, 2025, at 10 am, followed by a Memorial Service at 11 am.
