Judith Engelsen Obituary

Judith Engelsen of Novi passed away on September 23, 2021 at the age of 89.

Beloved wife of the late Norval. Loving mother of Elin (Gerardo), Anita, and Norman (Mary). Proud grandmother (“Besta”) of Christopher (Katy), Kristin, Elizabeth and Andrew and great grandmother of Kelsey, Maddie and Ellie.

Judith was born in Norway on March 2, 1932 to Anton and Hilda (nee Nesse) Eide. Judith emigrated from Norway to the U.S. in 1955.

Judith enjoyed cooking traditional Norwegian meals and desserts. She was very proud of her Norwegian heritage and enjoyed her many trips to Norway over the years.

She is also survived by her dear sister Hildur (Harold) Sevland, her brother-in-law Knut Hansen and many loving nieces and nephews.

Judith was preceded in death by her beloved siblings John (Anny) Eide, Bjorg Hansen and Aslaug Gundersen.

Judith was a beautiful woman inside and out, and she will be greatly missed.

Judith was LOVINGLY called "Besta" which is a Norwegian name for grandma. She was called "Besta" by many others who knew and loved her because she really was the BEST mom, mother-in-law, grandma, sister, aunt, and friend.

Services for Judith are being held privately.
