Inez Claire Kulinski Obituary

Inez Claire Kulinski of Farmington Hills, Michigan passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at the age of 92.

Born February 24, 1930, in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Michael and Geraldine (Arnold) Petroe.  Beloved wife of the late Edward, loving mother of Linda (Robert C.) Nielsen and Laura (Vincent) Masell, proud and loving grandmother of Robert E. Nielsen, Christine Masell, Elisabeth Nielsen, Ryan Masell, and caring sister of the late Dorothy Armes and Idella Hunt.  She was also a loving member of the late Alfred Weber’s family, including his children Keith, Mark (late Sue), Lisa, Lauren (Doug), and Lynne (Jon) and loving grandchildren.

She graduated from Commerce High School in Detroit. She worked her career at National Bank of Detroit until the birth of her first daughter when she transitioned to her new role as a stay-at-home mother and was active as a room mother at their schools. When her girls were grown, she returned to college to earn a degree and attended nursing school.

Inez lived a long, rich, and fulfilling life.

She had a lifelong love of playing the violin. Throughout the years, Inez enjoyed playing at “Old Time Fiddler” Jamborees in the US and Canada. She played for her own entertainment, but she also loved to entertain her family and friends.  She also enjoyed oil painting and completed many works of art.

She traveled frequently during her 70s and 80’s throughout the US, Canada, and Europe with her family.  She enjoyed spending time with Al’s family at their homes while traveling around the country.

Family trips to Disney World were a highlight for all involved–we just had to dodge the scooter she drove. We tied balloons to her and Al’s scooters to keep track of them while they zigged and zagged through the theme park crowds.

Throughout her life, Inez could be found outside, enjoying the sunshine and beauty of gardens and flowers. She rejoiced in the renewing power of springtime because she knew that, just like her life renews in heaven, her family’s lives renew in the opportunity to grow together. She truly saw the world with an artist’s eye.

Inez enjoyed spending summers in Elk Rapids, MI with a blend of the Kulinski and Weber families. We all will remember her during our trips up north, where her love will remain, kindling the warmth in the sunsets on the bay, while the water reflects her smile to the sky.

The Kulinski family will receive guests at Thayer-Rock Funeral Home in Farmington, MI, on Thursday, April 28, from 2:00 – 9:00 pm.

The funeral service is Friday, April 29, at 10:00 am (gathering 9:30 am), also at Thayer-Rock Funeral Home
