Hollis Ann Adair, lovingly known as Holly, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2025, at the age of 78. A devoted daughter, sister, aunt, great-aunt, friend, and lifelong Michigander, Holly lived a life marked by compassion, quiet strength, and steadfast devotion to the people and causes she loved.
Born on September 27, 1946, Holly attended Berkley High School and Michigan State University and joined her family's business, Adair Printing, in 1975. For nearly four decades, she played a central role in the company’s success—first under the guidance of her father, Robert Adair, and later as president from 2001 until her retirement in 2014. Holly helped shepherd the business through a rapidly evolving industry, honoring its legacy while keeping it relevant for the future.
More than a dedicated professional, Holly was a woman of deep spirit and heart. A longtime member of the Order of the Eastern Star, she was also quietly devoted to her faith and spirituality—values that guided how she lived and how she loved.
Animals held a special place in Holly’s heart. Her home was filled with beloved dogs and cats over the years, each one a cherished companion. Her pets brought her immeasurable joy, comfort, and laughter, and her deep connection with them reflected her gentleness and nurturing soul.
She was known for her fun-loving personality—especially her fondness for all things Tweety Bird. She enjoyed swimming in her pool and provided plenty of water toys for all who came to play. From horseback riding in her earlier years to off-road riding in recent years, she had an inquisitive and adventurous spirit. She also loved time up north with dear friends, who offered a second home of warm companionship surrounded by the peaceful beauty of nature.
Holly is survived by her brother, Robert Adair (Barbara), her sister, Shelly Dunlop (Hill), and many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Florence Adair.
Those who knew Holly will remember her for her loyalty, her kind and generous nature, and the quiet but lasting impact she made on everyone around her.
A private celebration of life will be held for family.
