Gerald “Jerry” Veach was born on July 28, 1933 in Detroit, Michigan and passed away on Friday November 3, 2023, at the age of 90. On September 12, 1959 he married Juanita Sexton, who preceded him in death on December 5, 2016.
A graduate of Cooley High School, Jerry excelled in his studies of “hard knocks” with HONORS. He made his living working in carpentry and garage doors.
Jerry will always be remembered as: stubborn, independent, hard headed, and for the life of him, he could NEVER tell a joke that made sense! He was a “people person”, with the unique ability to make a friend anywhere he went. He had a huge heart and ALWAYS put others before himself, no matter the time or the situation.
He is survived by his four children, Kim (Pete), Kelly (Wayne), Sharon (Keith), and Joe (Jodi).
Jerry, also known as Papa, had nine grandchildren: Aaron (Rose), Brian (Amanda), Lynn, Wayne Jr., Keith Jr. (preceded in death in February 2017), Stefanie, Brandon, Parker and Connor, and eight great-grandchildren: Sophie, Miles, Brian, Jacob, Randy, Tyler, Ellie, and Kiera.
Visitation will be at Thayer Rock Funeral Home in Farmington, Michigan on Thursday November 16th from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The funeral service will take place at Thayer Rock on Friday, November 17th, at 11:00 am
