Frederick Roy Fisher Obituary

Age 80. Fred married Linda Newkirk in Battle Creek, MI in 1962 and they shared 44 years together before her passing in 2006. Fred and Linda loved opening their home to host dinners for friends and foreign exchange students which they did quite often. Fred was known for his hospitable personality. This generous spirit was evident right up to his passing. Fred enjoyed traveling, including trips to Israel and Germany. Having retired from the Michigan Bell Telephone Company after 37 years of service he continued being an active member of Michigan Bell's service organization, the Pioneers as well as an active member of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Portage, MI. He was currently an active member at Hope Lutheran Church in Farmington Hills.

Frederick is the beloved father of Donald (Karla) Fisher, cherished grandfather of Luke, Alexander and Elizabeth, dear brother of Carol Hoppenrath, and uncle to Cyndi, Mike, Cathi, Carol and Don.

Funeral Friday 11 AM (in state 10 AM) at Hope Lutheran Church, 39200 W. 12 Mile Rd., Farmington Hills, MI 48331.

Visitation on Thursday from 4 - 8 PM at Thayer-Rock Funeral Home in Downtown Farmington.
