Ellen Zatolokin Obituary

Ellen Sue Zatolokin of Novi, Michigan, passed away peacefully on July 11th, 2024, at the age of 73.  She was born November 1st, 1950 in Detroit, Michigan, to Gordon and Mildred “Sally” Oass.

Devoted wife to David Zatolokin for 24 years. Loving mother of Matthew Christopherson (Valerie), Daniel Christopherson, Joshua Christopherson, Ryan Zatolokin, and Nathan Zatolokin.  Cherished grandmother of Dylan, Jakob, Kiara, Noah, and Aiden. Dear sister and best friend of Wendy (Robin) Frame.

She was a proud alumnus of Edsel Ford High School, Western Michigan University, and Oakland University. Ellen was a dedicated educator who lit up young minds as an elementary teacher, instilling knowledge and wisdom with every lesson taught.

Ellen was proud of her Norwegian heritage and family was an integral part of Ellen’s life. Nothing was more important to her than spending time with her family, including her cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and especially her grandchildren.

Ellen enjoyed the beauty of lighthouses and the grandeur of National parks. She loved to ski and golf and also enjoyed rooting on the Tigers and Spartans.

Ellen’s life was a melody of family, friends, and connection as she touched the lives of everyone around her. Ellen valued her many friendships, putting the needs of others ahead of her own and spreading happiness and camaraderie wherever she went.

She loved literature and participated in several book clubs. Volunteering was not just a duty but a calling for Ellen, as she dedicated her time and energy to many causes close to her heart.

In the company of her beloved spouse, David, Ellen’s travels were not just journeys but shared adventures filled with laughter and love. Together, they created memories that will be treasured forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

May Ellen’s spirit soar high, and may her legacy of love and compassion continue to shine bright in the hearts of all who knew her. Rest in peace, Ellen, for your light will forever guide us through the darkest of nights.
