Cliff Conway of Farmington Hills passed away July 12, 2024 at the age of 81. He was born May 11, 1943 in Takoma Park, Maryland to Howard and Edna Conway. Beloved husband of 52 years to Donna Conway. Loving father of Craig (Khris) Conway, and Kelly Conway. Dear grandpa of Cayla (Kaleb) Schlueter, Dylan Conway, Hannah Olsen, and Madeline Conway. Dear brother of Karen (Marty) Cadmus, and the late James Conway. Cherished uncle of David (Sherri) Cadmus, and Kathy (Kevin) Horath.
Throughout his life, Cliff found joy in his work as a Product Support Manager in the industry he loved Caterpillar. He spent over 30 years at Caterpillar before moving on to Michigan CAT, where he continued to share his expertise as Parts and service manager for 10 more years. Cliff's dedication to his craft shone through in the meticulous furniture he crafted for his family, showcasing his mastery in woodworking.
In his leisure time, Cliff's passions extended to the thrill of working on race cars and drag racing, as well as his unwavering support for Detroit sports teams. He cherished watching his grandchildren's sports games and activities, always present with a smile on his face.
An avid animal lover, Cliff found solace in nature, memorizing the names of all the birds that visited his feeder. His kindness extended beyond humans, leaving a lasting impact on all the creatures he encountered. Cliff loved to ski, and even lived in Montana for a bit while enjoying the slopes. Cliff could often be found cutting the grass in the summer and drinking a cold beer.
As we come together to honor Cliff's memory, visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 from 11am until time of service at 1:00pm at Thayer-Rock Funeral Home 33603 Grand River Ave, Farmington, MI 48335.
Cliff was extremely loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
