Clara Caroline Hanson was born on March 4, 1938, in Farmington, Michigan and died on June 22, 2025, in New Hudson, Michigan at the age of 87. She was the ninth of eleven children born to Leonard and Frances Hanson. She had six brothers, Carl, Frans, Bill, Al, Leo and Jim and four sisters, Mary, Lilly, Bertha, and Margaret. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frances and Leonard, her sisters Lillian, Mary Scheffler and Bertha Cunningham and her brothers Carl, Frans, Bill, Albert and Leo. She is survived by her brother Jim (Janet) and her sister Margaret. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and Christian friends. Clara was a lifelong member of the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church of Detroit.

Clara attended Farmington Public Schools and graduated from Farmington High School in 1956. She earned an Associate Degree in Business Administration from Oakland Community College in 1986. She started in the banking business shortly after graduating from high school. Her first job was with First Farmington Savings and Loan Association working as an office assistant and secretary. She survived several bank mergers and ended up as a branch manager at First Nationwide Bank. She retired from Nationwide Bank in 1996.

Clara lived in the Farmington/Novi area until she retired from banking. She then moved to Sault Saint Marie, MI and joined her sister, Margaret, who was teaching at Lake Superior State University. She was then close to her two other sisters, Mary in Rudyard and Bertha in Pickford. Her nephew, Fred, and family moved to the UP also and opened an auto repair shop in Pickford where Clara helped for a short time in the office once a week. After living in the Soo for eight years, Clara and her sister, Margaret, moved to New Hudson, Michigan, where Clara resided until her death.
