Cathryn Ellen (Kitchen / Loffman) Ripper

Cathryn Ellen Ripper, better known as Cathy passed away on September 22, 2023 at the age of 78. Cathy was born on July 22, 1945 in Greensboro, North Carolina to the late Lawrence and Agnes Loffman. In February 1965, Cathy married Dennis Kitchen and they welcomed their two children, Jeff and Jim Kitchen. Cathy then fell in love again with the late John “Jack” Ripper later in life and they got married in September 2005 and they shared 17 happy years together.

Loving mother of Jeff (Donna) Kitchen and Jim (Andrea) Kitchen. Devoted grandmother to Caitlin Kitchen, Caraline Kitchen, Lukas (Deliza) Bates, Jacob Bates, Alyssa Bates, Zachary Bates, Elizabeth Kitchen, and Andrew Kitchen. Beloved great-grandmother of Cataleya, Dahlia, Olive, and Ellie. Beloved sister of Barbara (Terry) Smith, Gary Loffman, Susy (Rich) Unverzagt, and Craig (the late Lisa) Loffman. Cherished Stepmother of John (Lesley) Ripper, David (Kim) Ripper, and Dan (Alison) Ripper. Loving step-grandmother of Lauren, Eric, Dean, Sean, Mitch, Julia, and Daniel. Step-great-grandmother of Haley, Ethan, Jaxon, Aria, Lola, Harlin, Luke, Madeline, and Wyatt. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Cathy was loved by many and will be missed deeply.

In her spare time, Cathy enjoyed vacationing, spending time and shopping in Northern Michigan, golfing, biking on Mackinaw Island, traveling, completing crossword puzzles, and spending time and having conversations with her beloved grandchildren.

Visitation, Friday, September 29, 2023 from 3-8 pm at Thayer-Rock Funeral Home, 33603 Grand River Ave. Farmington, MI 48335.

Instate Saturday September 30, 2023 from 9:30 am until time of mass at 10 am at St. James Catholic Church, 46325 W. 10 Mile Rd, Novi, MI 48374.
