Our dearly beloved Beverly Ann Smith, age 80, of Farmington, MI passed away Thursday, December 30, 2021.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Paul, her children Leslie (Nathan), Stacy, Stephen, and son-in-law, Matthew Nathan, her brother John (Jack) Love and his wife Linda, and many nieces and nephews (over 50). She was preceded in death by her dear mother, Elizabeth Love (Clan Buchanan) and her father, Thomas Love (Clan MacKinnon).
She was passionately proud of her Scottish ancestry, and it showed in her many Scottish plaid coats, jackets, nightgowns, pants, scarves, and gloves (to name a few). Beverly held positions with Wells, Rich, Green, The Berline Group, and McCann Erickson advertising agencies. She worked with her dear friend, Linda Wasche, at Hermanoff & Associates, a public relations firm, and for Linda’s firm, LW Marketworks. Beverly also volunteered for many years with the Woodward Dream Cruise. While Beverly had the opportunity to travel many places, two trips stood out. First was a trip to Scotland in 1991 with her mother, Betty, and her daughter, Leslie. Since her mother was born and raised in Scotland and had many relatives living there, they proved to be built-in travel guides. They took advantage of this and crisscrossed Scotland by car and train while visiting many historic and picturesque places. The second was a trip to Japan for two weeks as a guest of Sharp Corporation in 1984. She thoroughly enjoyed visiting four major cities, the historic sights, and especially liked the people and learning their culture. Beverly enjoyed many four-day golf trips with her girlfriends to northern Michigan and golf courses in Canada, as well as trips to Las Vegas with family and friends. She also enjoyed her oil painting, sewing and the many card clubs she was part of over the years. Beverly cherished her time with family and friends and was never happier than when the entire clan gathered for holidays and family vacations. All who knew her will never forget her infectious beautiful smile, humor, love, and friendship.
