Tony Gillis, age 37, of Farmington Hills, Michigan, passed away December 4, 2022. He is survived by his mother Bernadette (Bernie) Gillis, father John Paul Gillis, his five siblings Carter (Jodi) Gillis, Raymond (Nicole) Gillis, Kellen Gillis, Jessica (Kevin) Brisbois, John Paul Gillis, and four nieces and four nephews.
Anyone who has met or gotten close with Tony knows that he was a force. He will live on through his family and friends as he has shaped all of our lives with the depth of his love for all people, his zest for life, his outside of the box thinking, his dreamer mentality, and most importantly, his “sisu.” Sisu in Finnish means “strength, perseverance in a task that for some may seem crazy to undertake, almost hopeless.”
A special thank you to all of those who have loved and cared for Tony. Your kindness is deeply appreciated.
In remembrance of the life of Anthony Andrew Gillis, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
