AnaFe Dinopol, of Farmington Hills, passed away suddenly on June 18, 2025 at the age of 72, one week after celebrating her birthday with family and friends. She was born on June 12, 1953 in General Santos City, Philippines to the late Christito and Prescilla (Estrella) Dinopol. She was the daughter-in-law of the late Betty and Donald Girard. She was one of 16 children. She is survived by 15 siblings in the Philippines, two sisters-in-law, and one brother-in-law in the U.S., including their families, and a multitude of friends in both the Philippines and the U.S.

AnaFe graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from Notre Dame of Dadiangas College in 1969. She started her career as a CPA and held a position in the Philippine Port Authority as Head of Finance Department in the entire of Mindanao. She came to the United States in 1997 and continued her career in accounting/banking. Right up until her death, she missed her beloved Philippines.

AnaFe married Gerald Girard in a ceremony at the Warren Valley Golf Club in Westland, Michigan, on September 21, 2002.  They had their marriage Blessed at St. Clare of Assisi Church on June 18, 2007. They were blessed with 23 years of marriage.

AnaFe and Jerry loved to travel and went back often to the Philippines where they owned a home. They also travelled to many states, often bringing with them family and friends. AnaFe and Jerry also enjoyed the exciting atmosphere of the Detroit casinos. She and Jerry loved hosting family and friends at their home for visits, dinners, holiday parties and considered all of their friends family.

AnaFe was very proud of her graduating class of 1969. They held reunions in different cities every year and she maintained close relationships with her classmates over the years. She loved flowers and plants. She had that magic “green thumb” and filled her home and garden with plants, her favorite being the orchid.

AnaFe was a loving, generous woman to all who knew her. She loved Our Lord and was devoted to her Catholic Faith. As per her wishes, Anafe will be buried with  her Mother and Father in the Philippines.
