Amita S. Davé, a vibrant soul, educator, musician and craftsperson, unexpectedly left this world but found peace on October 14, 2023, at the age of 48. She was born in Southfield, Michigan to Carol Davé (nee McKenna) and Sharad Davé on September 18, 1975.
A proud graduate from Mercy High School and Wayne State University, Amita dedicated many years of her life to shaping young minds as a devoted Spanish teacher and tutor in the Metro Detroit area. Her passion for teaching was evident in the deep connections she formed with her students and colleagues. Outside of the classroom, Amita was a gifted artisan who had a particular affinity for making jewelry for her friends and family. Amita was also a skilled pianist with a love for the classics, a lifelong animal lover, and someone with a deep interest in poetry, philosophy, history, mythology, art, and many more intellectual pursuits.
Amita's memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew her as a loving daughter, sister, friend, cousin, and aunt. She was preceded in death by her beloved father, Sharad Davé, and aunts Mary and Nola McKenna. She is survived by her devoted mother, Carol Davé, her brothers and sisters-in-law, Sujay (Kimberly) and Nilay (Hayley), her niece Kareena and her nephews Cameron, Neal, Connor, and Dylan along with her cousins and many many other family members she loved.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date to allow close family and friends to pay their respects in a more intimate setting.
