Alan Joseph Farnstrom of Farmington Hills, Michigan, passed away early Saturday morning, December 4, 2021, at age 68.
Best known to his friends as AL.
Born March 27, 1953 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Gunnar and Edith Farnstrom.
Beloved husband of Carol; loving brother of Kristi, loving Papa to Samantha Bandy; beloved cousin to Greg (Jama), Paul (Linda) Gallo, Sandy (David) Hockenberry, Sharon (Tommy) Barnes and loving nephew to Dorothy Gallo.
He grew up in Clawson, Michigan, and graduated from Clawson High School in 1971. He attended Oakland Community College for 2 years.
Alan retired from Ford Motor Company in 2005, after 32 years. At retirement he held the position of Quality Assurance Liaison.
Alan loved his family and will be remembered as a devoted husband, brother, papa and cousin. He put his family first and was always ready to help family members or a friend in need. He was an avid golfer and he loved sports. His favorite teams were the Michigan Wolverines football team, the Detroit Lions, and the Detroit Red Wings.
Alan owned two classic cars, both red convertibles. He loved his country and was very proud and thankful to be an American. Alan loved life and lived it to the fullest.
The great love of his life was his wife, Carole. They were married for 44 years, best friends for 48.
He will be missed by many including his favorite four-legged fur buddy, “Frankie”.
The Farnstrom family will receive guests 11:00 until the 12:30pm Memorial Service, Saturday, December 11th, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorials in memory of Alan maybe directed to Shriners Hospital for Children.
