Adele "Lina", age 86, departed this life on Friday, August 7th, in Kyle, Texas. She leaves to cherish her precious memory; her children, Gemma Cercone of Austin, TX, Guy Cercone (Diana) of Washington, MI., Teresa Karlavage (James) of Novi, MI, Laurie Cercone (Ben) of Austin, TX., special grandchildren James Karlavage (Aprille), Jessica Brooks (Jason), Michael Cercone, Victoria Millner, Phillip Millner, Nicholas Millner, Joel Alexander, Jake Alexander, Tyler Alexander, Ryan Alexander and great grandchildren, David Karlavage, Anna Karlavage, Joey Karlavage, Chloe Cercone.

Adele was born in Sulmona Italy, in the Abruzzo region, a beautiful mountain village located between Rome and the Adriatic Sea. Adele spoke of her cherished memories of her family and home there. She married Frank Cercone and they planned to start their new future in America. On September 10th 1949 she boarded a ship to America. One month later, on October 10th, 1949, she landed at Ellis Island and went to Detroit to join her late brother Joseph Avolio. During her working career, she worked at Fisher Body, GM, as a seamstress, using her talent of sewing.Growing up in the farmlands of Sulmona, Adele always found energy, passion and peace in gardening and the outdoors. Her yard and garden were a true reflection of this. As her needs for care grew, she was moved to Texas. She made many new and loving relationships there before the Lord called her home.

Adele was a devout Catholic and loved the Lord. Adele's family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday, August 15, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until a 10:30 a.m. service at Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 43300 W. 12 Mile Road, Novi, Michigan (at Novi Road).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Alzheimer Association.
