Age 82. Loving mother of Lillian (Douglas) Anderson, Richard Whyte, William (Jill) Whyte, Cheryl (John) Tree, and the late Elaine Prevost. Cherished grandmother of Jeanie, Lee, Johnny, Rachel, and Shelby. Proud great-grandmother of Heather, Brendon, Chris, Nick, and Devian. Dear sister of Julie Gilbert, Maryann Walls, the late Raymond Saenz, late Alexander Saenz, late Gloria Lane, and late Walter Maselka. Sophie was a Country & Western singer in her earlier years, from the early 1960's to the late 1980's, and wrote over a 100 of her own songs. She enjoyed gardening, doing jigsaw puzzles, and was an avid Detroit Tigers fan. Her family always came first, especially her grand and great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Thursday 11 AM at Thayer-Rock Funeral Home, Downtown Farmington. The officiant will be Rev. Mr. Clem Stankiewicz, Deacon of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, Farmington. The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday from 2-8 PM at the funeral home.
