Age 79.

Began a new life in the presence of the Lord on Saturday, August 16. Ruth passed away at home where her husband, Calvin, lovingly cared for her following a stroke 5 years ago.

Ruth was born October 29, 1928. She married Calvin Ojanen on June 16, 1951.

She encouraged her children to explore their own path in life -- even when it meant family moving across the country. She loved to laugh and she had a creative spirit. Ruth enjoyed painting landscapes, sewing, reupholstering and baking. She faithfully read the bible in her nightstand and joyfully sang hymns in church.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Sofia and Gust Haarala, and siblings, Ann, Ila, John, Helen, Bill, Ed, Bertha and Paul.

She is survived by her husband, Calvin, her sons, Randy (Susan) Ojanen; Michael (Helena) Ojanen; David (Ruth) Ojanen; her daughter, Diane (Bruce) Albrecht; 11 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson, her brother, Matt (Marge) Haarala; her sisters, Martha Nippa and Miriam Hiltunen; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral service Thursday 11 AM (In-state 10 AM)
at Bethlehem Lutheran Church 35300 W. Eight Mile Road, Farmington Hills.

Memorials can be sent to the Church.
Interment in Chassell, MI.
