Born in Shelby, Michigan, to the late Sheldon and the late Martha Baker (nee Dzur).

Beloved husband of the late Bettie for 58 years. Loving father of David (Kathy) Baker of Wichita, KS, Bruce (Joan) Baker of Grand Rapids, MI, and Janet Baker (David Gawlowski) of Farmington Hills, MI. Cherished grandfather of Martha (Joel), Alex (Jennifer), Ashley and Rebecca. Great-grandfather of Addison, Aiden, Ethan, and Kaitlyn. Dear uncle to several nieces and nephews.

Russell was a proud World War II Army Air Force Veteran.


Funeral Saturday 11 AM at First Presbyterian Church of Farmington, 26165 Farmington Rd., Farmington Hills, MI 48334. Rev. Dr. Sue Ellis Melrose, Pastor, will officiate.



The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday 2-8 PM at Thayer-Rock Funeral Home, Downtown Farmington.

Interment at Oakview Cemetery, Royal Oak.
