Roger Odean Sharp passed away after a brief illness at the age of 88 on July 18, 2022, in Royal Oak, MI.  Roger was born on September 30, 1933, in Foreman, Arkansas to Burgess Foster and Bonnie Pauline Sharp. Roger is preceded in death by his late wife; Maxie May. They were married for 40 years.

In 1965, Roger moved to Michigan for work and built a loving family where he remained until the time of his passing. Roger was an incredibly hard worker. He worked for Holloway Sand & Gravel in Wixom, MI where he drove a gravel train and asphalt truck for 30 years and retired in 1996.

Roger was a family man and loved seeing his family as often as he could. You could usually find him outside. In his spare time, he loved woodworking, working in the garage on his many toys, playing the guitar, tending to his vegetable gardens or working with the many flowers and roses around the yard. He also was an avid knife collector. He had many loving neighbors and good friends Donna and Ed Chambers.

Loving father of Joan Whitehead, Judith Reedy (Fred), Gerland Head (Darnez), John Morgan (Barbara), Peggy Sharp (Jason), and Roger Sharp (Elizza) and the late Glenna, David, Janie and Sandra.

Grandfather to Brandon (Monica), Jaylynn (Dillon), Bryson, Brian, Chris, Jordan, Derek, Marisa (Nichole), Brandy (Jay), Kris (Angie), Jasen (Tina), Joshua (Danielle), Curin (Tiffany), Theresa, the late Byron and the late Zachary.

Great-grandfather to Michael, Alex, Artez, Amir, Samaiya, Lorenzo, James, Audrina, Christopher, Jaden, Chayton, Blake, Hunter, Xander, Lillian, Monica, Asher and Penelope.

Roger's siblings are James, Evelyn, Peggy, Sue, Louise and the late Fred, Jo, Emma and Margaret. He has many loving nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Monday, July 25, 2022, from 2:00pm to 8:00pm at Thayer-Rock Funeral Home in Farmington, MI. Funeral service officiated by Pastor Drex Morton will be held on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at 10:00am followed by committal/burial at New Hudson Cemetery.

Roger's service will be live streamed beginning at 10am on Tuesday, July 26.
