Robert A. Raitanen died at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans on October 12, 2017 at age 86.

He was born March 15, 1931 to parents Emil and Amanda (nee Beckola) Raitanen in L'Anse, MI and moved to the Detroit area at age 10. Robert served in the U.S. Air Force from January 1951 to December 1954. He was preceded in death by his parents Emil and Amanda, sisters Helen, Eva, Martha and Miriam and brother Paul.

Funeral Services will be held 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 17th at the Thayer-Rock Funeral Home, downtown Farmington. with Donald Pennala of the First Apostolic Lutheran Church, Howell, officiating.

Burial will be at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly.
