Hagemann, Robert C., Sr. passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2008. Bob was the third child born to August and Clara Hagemann on March 14, 1923 in Mauston, Wisconsin. He graduated from Mauston High School, served in Italy in the signal corps during WWII, and taking advantage of the GI Bill, completed a BSEE from Lawrence Institute of Technology in 1950. He began his engineering career with 5 years at IBM, then 3 years with Vickers and finished with 22 ½ years at Burroughs Corporation. Bob's engineering passion was fueled by repairing and restoring automobiles. He relaxed at various times in his life by bowling, fishing, hunting and water skiing. In retirement he cultivated a green thumb and an avid interest in the Detroit Tigers. Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Helen Lucile. He is survived by 4 children: Saundra (David) Landsburg of Arizona, Carolyn (Roderick) McCreary and Robert (Kim) Hagemann, Jr. of Michigan and Donna Hagemann of North Carolina, 5grandchildren: Carissa Welton, Lori and Erin Landsburg, Robert Hagemann III, and Hailey Bates and 1 great grandchild: Jake Steinbach. Bob is also survived by 3 sisters: Florence Miller, Dorothy Peshak and Carolyn Cho. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Thayer-Rock Funeral Home Visitation Saturday 2-8 p.m. Interment will take place on Monday at Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens.
