Saviniemi, Rafael, May 30, 2016, age 97. Beloved husband of Elvi (Hill) of 73 years. Dear father of Ann and Lois (John) Sefcovic. Loving grandfather of Matthew and Ryan and uncle to surviving nieces and nephew.

Rafael was born on November 7, 1918 in Hancock, Michigan. He graduated from Hancock High School, and was a World War II Army veteran, who served in the Pacific on Guadalcanal and the Philippines. After the war he graduated from Michigan Technological University. Rafael later co-owned Harper Floor Covering in St. Clair Shores and Main Floor Covering in Royal Oak.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, June 12th at 1:00 PM at the Finnish Center Association.
