Beloved husband of Judith for 62 years. Loving father of Elin, Anita, and Norman (Mary).
Proud grandfather of Andrew, Kristin, Elizabeth and Chris.

Norval was born on June 29, 1927 in Norway to Olai and Sigrid (nee Fjelland) Engelsen. He emigrated to the United States in 1954 and enjoyed a lifelong career as a successful business owner. He is the retired Consul of Norway for the State of Michigan. He was an active member of the Sons of Norway and the Norwegian Club of Detroit. He made serious efforts in promoting and supporting these two organizations. Norval enjoyed winters in Florida, and summer vacations in Norway.
Norval is also survived by two brothers; Ove and Lars and two sisters; Ingunn and Solveig in Norway. He will be dearly missed.

Funeral 2 p.m. Friday, January 27th, at Thayer-Rock Funeral Home, Downtown Farmington.


The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday from 12 noon until the 2 p.m. service.

Private interment at Glen Eden Memorial Park, Livonia.
