Michael D. Mainguth, of Olde Redford/Detroit, passed away at Botsford Hospital on Monday, August 29th, at the age of 92. He was predeceased by his wife, Donatha M. (Kubasiewicz) Mainguth.
Mike was born in Hamtramck, MI on November 5th, 1923, the son of Michael J. and Tessie (Theresa) Mainguth.

After graduating from Hamtramck High, he served in WWII and toured the United Stated with the Army Air Corps Band to promote the sales of U. S. Savings Bond. After his honorable discharge, he went on to Wayne State University where he received a M.A. in music and education.

His lifelong love of music was exemplified by his long careers in both teaching and performing. He was a music teacher for 2 years in the Highland Park Schools and then retired from the Detroit Public School System after 30 years of service. Mike continued to teach violin privately and cherished his adult and young students.
