Margery L.
Coutts
Apr 2, 1926 — Apr 24, 2019
Margery L. Coutts of Farmington Hills, Michigan passed away April 24, 2019, at age 93
She was born April 2, 1926 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Samuel and Edith Lund.
Margery was the beloved wife of the late Adam Casson Coutts; loving mother of Douglas Casson (Lynne) Coutts and Diane Margery-Coutts (David Mack) Riordan; proud grandmother of Evan Casson (Casey) Coutts and Lyle Adam Coutts; great-grandmother of Callan and dear sister of the late Elsie and Renee.
Just after WW II, Marge met the love of her life while working as a secretary for the Dean of Civil Engineering at Wayne State University. Cass Coutts had just enrolled with the GI Bill and it was love at first sight. Cass went on to set up a small specialized refrigeration contracting firm and with Marge's love and support the business flourished and they had a son and daughter, living first in Detroit and later moving to Farmington in the 1960s.
Marge was a loving and devoted grandmother to her two grandsons, Evan and Lyle. She traveled to Rome for the births of both boys as well as for Italian vacations together. Long summer holidays were spend with Grandma at her cottage on Lake Huron when the Coutts family was back on regular home leave from overseas assignments. Marge was in her glory and loved having everyone around her each summer.
Last year before Evan and his wife, Casey, moved to New Delhi, she had the chance to meet her great grandson, Callan. Although by this point in time she had difficulty communicating, she clearly was thrilled to hold a baby, the fourth generation of the Coutts family, in her arms.
The Coutts family will receive guests at the funeral home 5:00 – 8:00 pm on Friday, April 26, 2019.
A Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Church of the Redeemer 18140 Cornell Rd. Southfield.
Memorial donations are suggested to Church of the Redeemer 18140 Cornell Rd. Southfield, MI 48075 or the Michigan Humane society.
Thank you for keeping the Coutts family in your thoughts during this time.
