Kevin LaRoi Baker was born June 5, 1969 to Roy and Darlene Baker. At a very young age, Kevin was dedicated to scholarly academic achievement as well as pursuing additional vocational education receiving awards for his academic achievements, writings, drawings, and coding computer programs in his early teens. He was very smart and creative with a gifted brilliant mind. After graduating from Osborn High School in 1987 with honors, he decided to pursue a career in dentistry, attending the University of Michigan honors pre-dentistry program. As life presented other opportunities, Kevin embraced and loved the opportunity to continue to grow and use his creative mind becoming an employee at Kinkos, presently known as FedEx Office. This led to his over twenty-year career as senior manager with FedEx Office, excelling in his job performance, earning multiple Presidential Awards! Kevin was very diligent, committed, and worked hard exhibiting excellence at the workplace. He loved his staff and when able would host outings at Ford Field to see the Tigers! Kevin loved to have fun! Some of his favorite past-time's activities were LISTENING TO PRINCE, GOING TO PRINCE CONCERTS, AND TELLING EVERYONE ABOUT PRINCE, the Detroit Movement Festival, house music, traveling, seeing new things and meeting new people! He loved hanging out at a beach somewhere, trying new foods, cooking new foods (especially his holiday cookies and other creative desserts) and let us not forget his annual Black Friday shopping after Thanksgiving dinner! Demonstrated by phone calls, text, emails, cards, FB post etc., without question "OUR" Kevin was loved, respected, and will be sorely missed.

Kevin leaves to cherish his memory: Grandmother Mattie Young, Mother Darlene Baker, Father Roy Baker, Brother Marlin Baker, Sister LaCinda Warren, Brother-in-law Careem Warren, two Nephews Gaius and Luke Warren, Brothers Elijah and Ezekiel and Sister Kaleb Baker, AND his many aunts, uncles, cousins, FedEx Office family and friends.

The Baker family will receive guests 1:00pm until the 2:00pm Memorial Service, Thursday, August 27, at Thayer-Rock Funeral Home, Downtown Farmington.

Kevin's service will be on Facebook live starting just before 2:00 pm Thursday.
