Age 100.

Kay was the beloved wife of the late Robert H. Briggs for 35 years; loving mother of Robert C. Briggs and Diana K. Briggs Butler; loving grandmother of Deborah K. Bertotti, Peter Carlson, James F. Briggs, and Elizabeth A. Briggs Johnson; loving great grandmother of Michael R. Bertotti, Lauren E. Bertotti Buecke, Rachael M. Bertotti, Stephen E. Bertotti, Therese M. Bertotti, John Paul A. Bertotti, Joseph A. Bertotti, Jonathan B. Carlson, Cathryn S. Carlson, Simon Butler and Penny Butler; and dear sister of the late Gladys Cox.

Kay graduated from Wayne State University where she met her husband and later earned her Master's degree in Special Education. She loved to travel the world and set foot on all seven continents. She had her own TV program, "Travel with Kay." She was active in the community, especially the historical commission, the arts commission, the Lily Society, the Garden Club, the LOC credit union, Delta Kappa Gamma, Farmington Education Association, Friends of the Library, the Numusmatic Society, Methodist Children's Home Society, the AAUW and the Genealogy Society.

Her Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Thayer-Rock Funeral Home. Rev. Arthur L. Spafford officiating.

Interment at Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens in Novi and reception luncheon to follow.

Visitation will be on Friday September 6, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Kay was an active community member. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the charity of your choice, the local schools or the historical commission of Farmington.
