Joyce A.
Baker
Aug 7, 1930 — Apr 9, 2017
Age 86.
It was a quiet peaceful Sunday morning. Outside a large picture window, the sun was shining and clouds speckled the brilliant blue sky. There was a gentle breeze and creek water flowed peacefully by. There was new life all around as trees and bushes were sprouting buds. It was evident spring had arrived.
On April 9, 2017, just after 11:00 am, Joyce Anne Baker broke the bonds of this mortal life and began anew her eternal life with our Lord and her husband, Chet Baker. She passed peacefully while surrounded by the love of her family. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, brother Chuck and her husband. She is survived by her three children, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Joyce was born in 1930 in Portsmouth OH to William and Merle Risher. She lived in Dayton, Denver, Farmington Hills MI, Missouri, and Beavercreek OH.
Joyce was a loving Mother and devoted Christian who taught many bible classes at several Church of Christ's in Colorado and Michigan. She enjoyed cooking, entertaining, and running her Kirby vacuum. In 2004 she was diagnosed with Dementia. She lived many years, continuing to make others smile with her loving care, laughter and beautiful singing.
A Family gathering is planned for 2:00 PM, Saturday, April 15th, in the Chapel at Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens, Novi, Michigan.
Remember them when they can no longer remember you. In Lieu of flowers we ask that you make a memorial gift to the Dementia Society (https://www.dementiasociety.org/)
