Age 77 of Farmington Hills died on July 18th of Alzheimer's disease.

Survived by his dear wife Susan. Predeceased by his first wife Anne. Also survived by sons J. Mark MacDougall and J. Matthew (Pamela) Lightner and daughters Melissa J. (Craig) Huartson and Maria J. Lightner; stepson Christopher (Sherri) Rennels and stepdaughter Abigail (Michael Flickinger) Rennels and grandchildren Jacob, Jeri, Ian, Jennifer, Andrew, Nicholas, Zoe, Adam, and great grandson Caleb. John will be greatly missed.

At Mr. Lightner's request, his body has been donated to the University of Michigan for medical research.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 14th at 1:00 p.m. at the Universalist Unitarian Church of Farmington, 25301 Halsted Road (1/2 mile North of Grand River Avenue), Farmington Hills. (248-478-7272)
