Age 96, of Novi. Born in Detroit, Michigan.

Beloved husband of Zora (nee Fitzgerald) for 73 years. Loving father of Susan Lenore (Peter) LaBatt and Jamie John Cross. Cherished grandfather of Suzanne Lenore LaBatt. Dear son of the late William and late Lillian (nee Schram) Cross; and brother of the late Ellen Hublein.

Jack graduated from Detroit's Western High School, and earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Wayne State University. He continued to study Music Theory and Composition, earning a Masters of Art Degree also at Wayne State University.

Jack served the Detroit Public Schools as an elementary and middle school instrumental music teacher. He devoted Saturdays to directing the All-City Band. He was dedicated to sacred music and served as a music director at Trinity Presbyterian Church, Cherry Hill Presbyterian Church, and later First Presbyterian Church of Farmington.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 18th, 11 a.m. until 12 noon service at The First Presbyterian Church of Farmington, 26165 Farmington Rd., Farmington Hills, MI 48334.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Music Ministry at First Presbyterian Church of Farmington.
