Age 73. Beloved wife of the late Paul B. Loving mother of Teresa (Jeff), the late Paul (Xiomara), John, Kathleen (Kevin), Daniel and Maureen (Terry). Proud grandmother of Megan, Kyle, Leslie Marie, Grace, Matthew, John, Justin, Claire and Carolyn. Dear daughter of the late John and the late Irene Griffin. Dear sister of Gail Pessina.

Joanne devoted her life to her Catholic faith and raised her children and grandchildren to be good Christians. Former Detroit Police officer, secretary for the Chancery in Detroit under Cardinal Dearden, secretary at St. Mary of Redford in Detroit. A good friend to many and a shining example of how to lead a pure and wholesome life.


Funeral Wednesday 11 AM Mass(in state 10 AM) at St. Mary of Redford Catholic Church, 14601 Mansfield, Detroit, MI 48227. Officiant Rev. Fr. Robert J. McCabe.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday 3-9 PM (Rosary 7:30 PM) at Thayer-Rock Funeral Home, Downtown Farmington.
