Jeffrey Norman
Davies
Oct 30, 1955 — Nov 9, 2015
Our father, Jeff Davies, passed away on the evening of November 9th at the age of 60. He was a bigger than life man with a heart of gold. He was a devoted husband to Lynda (married for 37 years); loving father to Brian (Kristen), Kristin (his heart and joy) and youngest daughter, Julie; elated grandfather to Calleigh and Gabriella Davies; son of Ceverena Davies; son-in-law of Mary Jane Grommes. He was often surrounded by a large family whom he also cherished: Brother of Phillip (Jody) Davies, Andrea Tomaszewski, Nancy (John) Faught, brother-in-law of Debra (Joel) Bonamy, Greg (Janet) Sables, David (Linda) Sables, Susan (Kenneth) Byrne and Margarit Schumacher as well as numerous nieces and nephews. His father Theodore and step-mother Marilyn predeceased him.
Dad was a proud Spartan and brother of Delta Chi.
Dad decided early on in his career that he knows best and decided to be his own boss. Owner and operator of many different ventures throughout the years, he eventually found his niche building and renovating homes. Gifted in design and a visionary in making the abstract become a beautifully designed realty for his customers; Dad always went out of his way to deliver satisfaction to his clients.
Dad was a man of courage and positive thinking and was constantly seeking to expand his understanding of himself and the human race. He continually searched for ways to improve himself and the world around him. Dad fueled his thirst for knowledge through reading and friendly debate. He loved to debate, but always walked away from one as a friend and with a new perspective on the subject.
Dad was a lover of adventure, travel and all people. We can't think of a place we visited where he didn't leave his mark. He lived life to the fullest and always placed a priority on making memories in new places with his family and friends. He loved and played many sports, but especially fancied MSU basketball and football. Dad was blessed to be in attendance for both a Basketball National Title and a Rose Bowl victory as well as numerous other bowl games and final four appearances in his lifetime.
Each adventure with Dad was yet another story for which he was famous for telling. A friend to many people... too many to name, and loved by most everyone who knew him. He will forever be missed, but never forgotten. To our loving Father, Jeff, farewell on your next adventure.
In lieu of flowers and memorials, we ask that any donations made be to our mother, Lynda, to assist with respite care for our sister Kristin or to Angel's Place (a private organization who provide homes and lifetime care for handicapped individuals.)
The Jeff Davies Family would like to thank all of you for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time.
