Age 96.
Idella was born in Myrtlewood, Alabama, lived in Meridian, MS but considered Erie, PA to be her hometown. She moved to Erie with her beloved husband, the late Leo James Goodwin, around 1950. She moved to Michigan around 2010.

She loved her family and all people regardless of their background, had an irresistible smile and laugh, a great sense of humor and enjoyed a good joke.

While in Erie, she was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church. For over 30 years she was a member of the church choir, a Sunday school teacher and received many awards for her participation in both.

She also served as president of the Missionary Society. Among their good works was giving food baskets to the less fortunate.

She loved bowling and was a member of The Poisettes Women's Bowling League for many years. The league helped the community in various ways such as giving scholarships to help young people attend college.

Idella is survived by her son Norward Sr. (Vicki), grandsons Norward Jr. and Maurice (Lea), step-grandson James (Jan) Dwyer, great-grandchildren Justin, Jessyca, Jenna, Kiara and Jordan. Dear sister Georgia Smith, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews.

Visitation Saturday, March 18th from 1:00-3:00 PM at Thayer-Rock Funeral Home in Downtown Farmington.
