Garth Robert
Emanoil
Dec 29, 1956 — Jul 8, 2018
Age 61, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly of a heart attack on July 8, 2018 in Farmington, Michigan.
Garth was born in Pontiac, Michigan on December 29, 1956. He is survived by his children, Grant, Lauren (Gunter),
and Garret; and his grandson , Zeppelin. Garth is also survived by his brothers and their families: George, Mary, and Valerie;
Greg, Michelle, Audra, and Grayson; and Guy and Suzanne. He is predeceased by his parents, Valerian Emanoil and Betty Forsberg.
Garth attended Broward Community College and the University of Florida, obtaining an Associates Degree. He was a restaurant manager for many years, and embodied the ideals of hospitality management. He lived in Florida, then North Carolina, and had returned to Oakland County to be near family.
Garth's children were the greatest joy of his life. He loved to talk about his kids and his pride in them, and had recently become a grandfather.
Garth loved sports, especially spectator sports, and was known to enjoy a beer or two while watching. He had a playful sense of humor and was
often described as an old-fashioned gentleman. Garth was an optimist, even in the face of adversity, and always had a smile and a hug for everyone. He was welcomed at holiday meals, not just for his company, but also for his famous deviled eggs and the dressing he made from his father's recipe. Garth was a source of help, encouragement, and positivity to everyone who knew him, and will be missed by all of us.
A "Celebration of Life" will be held on Sunday for family and friends. Please contact family for details.
