Eva Bessonen died June 30, 2022 age 90

Eva was born in Ahmeek, Michigan to parents Charles and Julia (nee Erickson) Tiri.

Beloved wife of the late Earl. Loving mother of Robert (Sherri) Bessonen, David (Cynthia) Bessonen, John (Kari) Bessonen and the late Cheryl Swies.

Dear grandmother of Eric Swies, Evan Bessonen, Joy Bessonen, Kerri (Bessonen) Sullivan, Kelli (Bessonen) Bashynski, Kurt Bessonen,  Kyle Bessonen and  Kaitlyn Bessonen. Great grandmother of 7. Also survived by several nieces and cousins.

After graduation from Calumet High School she worked in Chicago and then Detroit as a secretary for the Chrysler Corporation.  She transitioned from the corporate world, focusing her ambitions on family and relatives. Eva had a very positive influence on all that she met, always displaying a pleasant personality and steadfast persistence in raising her family.  She held numerous dinners, bringing family together. Eva will be especially remembered for her famous roast on Christmas Eve.  She always cherished every opportunity to spend time with, family, relatives, and friends.  Conversations and catching up over coffee were special moments to her. Eva also enjoyed outings like shopping trips and lunches with her shopping companions. Eva was a lifetime member of the Finnish Center Association.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 7, 2022 at the Thayer Rock Funeral Home. Visitation is Thursday 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Interment at Lakeview Cemetery, Calumet, MI
