GASS, DOROTHY BARCLAY. Of 30727 Shiawassee Dr. Farmington Hills MI, died suddenly September 3, 2016, age 93, at the home of her daughter in Farmington Hills, following a brief illness.

Born in Buffalo NY, Dorothy was for 34 years the beloved wife of the late Gilbert C. Gass. Their marriage was delayed by the rigors of World War II, while 'Gil' served as a communications officer with General Patton's Third Army and Dorothy worked in a 'Rosie the Riveter' job in an aircraft factory in her native Buffalo.

She was predeceased in death by her parents Dr. Harrison Barclay Sr. and Florence Barclay of Amherst, NY. She was the loving mother of Carol (Dr. Michael) Rogers, Judy (Glenn) Wilson and Charles (Heidi) Gass. Cherished grandmother of 9 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of the late Dr. Harrison Barclay Jr. and her surviving brother Ronald Barclay of Massachusetts. She was also predeceased by a granddaughter, Becky Wilson.

Dorothy loved the Lord Jesus with all her heart. Her faith gave her strength and grace every day. She was a blessing to her family and friends. She graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo with a degree in education and served a long career in various schools in Western NY as an elementary teacher. Her mind was keen and alert through her last days as she enjoyed completing a daily crossword puzzle and she followed world events with interest.

A private interment will take place at the family's convenience in Clarence, NY.
